About Us

The Australian National Yo Yo Championships (ANYC) is an annual national YoYo competition held in Australia usually during the second half of the year. It is officially organised and run by the Australian YoYo Federation (AYYF). The AYYF is an affiliate and cooperating body of the International YoYo Federation (IYYF) and works with the IYYF in the running of annual national competitions.

The IYYF is the global governing body for the sport of yo-yoing. and oversees major international competitions including the World Yo-Yo Contest (WYYC), It develops and maintains rules and regulations for competitions, and works to promote the sport globally. It also collaborates with national yo-yo organizations around the world. These national organizations including the AYYF run their own national championships and select representatives to compete in the World Yo-Yo Contest.

The IYYF was established in 2013 and took over running the WYYC from the American-based organization, the American Yo-Yo Association (AYYA). The WYYC had been held in the United States for many years prior to that, However under IYYF management, it began to move to different countries around the world to truly reflect its global status. The objectives of the AYYF under the guidance of the IYYF are to promote, foster and expand the enjoyment of Yo Yo playing in Australia and ensure Australia remains a reputable and renowned global leader in professional Yoyoing skills and standards.
